Can you have a wedding ceremony on the beach in cornwall?
Great news - yes you can! And in even better news, the Beach Huts on Bude Beach are just gorgeous - simple, unique, and in a stunning setting, they are legally licensed for ceremonies. I absolutely loved photographing a micro wedding here last year - it's such a relaxed, intimate venue, and run by the loveliest team.
OK - what are the package options for A micro beach wedding in Bude?
You can opt for one of three packages at Summerleaze Beach Huts depending on your preferred timing and guest numbers
First up - the Elopement package. If it's just the two of you, the team at Bude can provide your two legal witnesses, or you can invite up to four guests. You get exclusive use of the beach hut for up to three hours, and a choice of decorations. You have a flexible timeslot and can bring your own bubbly and music if you'd like. It's just £1,099 in 2026 (or £1,199 for 2027 dates).
Your second option is the Three-Hour Ceremony package. Again, you get exclusive use of the beach hut for three hours, this time with up to ten guests. A dedicated staff team will be with you on the special day (and beforehand) to ensure everything runs smoothly. You can bring your own drinks, music, flowers and additional décor. This package is £1319 in 2026 (or £1449 for 2027 dates).
Your third option is a Full-Day Package. This is for up to ten guests seated inside at the ceremony and up to an extra ten guests (outside) for your post-ceremony celebration and reception. You have exclusive use of the beach hut from 9am to 6pm. As well as everything that's in the smaller packages, you also have use of the beach hut next door for storage, and for guests to get changed if they're going off for a swim! If the weather is looking friendly then you an also have a small gazebo, and choose to have all 20 guests seated outside for a small extra charge. The 2026 price for this package is £2,199 (and for 2027 it's £2,399).
What about after the ceremony?
Take a walk, take a swim (or a surf!) and enjoy the beautiful beach and its surroundings. Bring a picnic or grab some chips from nearby - I'm a firm believer that all food tastes better outdoors...
Is it dog friendly?
If you're keen to have your four legged family member at your wedding, then you'll be delighted to know that (clean and dry!) dogs are very welcome inside the Beach Hut. Summerleaze is also a dog friendly beach, though dogs must be on a lead between 10am and 6pm from 21st May to 30th September.
Is it accessible?
The Beach Hut is wheelchair accessible, but it's worth noting that the access path from the car park to the beach can be sandy.
where can we stay nearby?
There are loads of lovely accommodation options in and around Bude. You can check them out on the Visit Bude website here - and in addition to the usual criteria, you can search according to dog-friendly options and eco-ratings. Perfect!
sounds ideal - what's next?
If this kind of relaxed, seaside vibe sounds perfect for your wedding, you can enquire with the Bude Beach Huts team here (they really are one of the loveliest venue teams I've worked with, I can highly recommend!).
And of course, if you're looking for a photographer for your beach wedding, I'm delighted to be a recommended supplier on the Bude Weddings site - and I'd absolutely love to hear more about your wedding.
